3日目も引き続き、まざわ家と東北ツアー。お昼過ぎに盛岡を出発して、十和田湖へ向かいます。途中、まざわくんがどうしても見せたいところがあるというので、寄り道。うねうねした山道をひたすら走り、到着したのがここ「苫屋」です。

築160年以上の南部曲がり家を改築した民宿・カフェで、ネットはもちろん、電話もないため、宿泊の予約は往復はがき。にも関わらず、国内外から多くのお客さんが訪れます。この日も私たちの前に、海外のお客さま。汗を流しながら、囲炉裏を囲んでおりました。

これには、カリンさんも興味津々。iPhone片手に、部屋の隅々に目を凝らしていました。

 

日も暮れはじめ、外もひんやり。車に乗り込む前に、目の前の川をしばし散歩しました。この日は、このあたりでは送り盆。川の近くや、家の前に火を炊き、送り火をする習慣があるそう。「なんだかアートインスタレーションみたい」とカリンさんも撮影が止まりません。

このまま一泊して、朝日も拝みたい。
